The is a step by step guide on how to get real followers and likes from your target niche on Instagram. It’s relatively easy to do and can help tremendously when first getting started on Instagram or if you are launching a new product/store.
To watch the video, click on the image below:
1. Search Instagram for large general accounts in your target market. For example, if you are are a mens fashion brand, search Instagram for mens fashion accounts that have a large (100k+) following. To find these accounts you can do a search for hashtags related to your niche and comb those those photos or you can search the popular page of Instagram for images that closely represent your niche.
2. When looking at the large accounts, look for ones with email addresses in their description. These are account that are usually open to allowing featured inserts or paid advertisements.
3. Email accounts and ask for pricing and rules around featured inserts/paid advertisements.
You will have the options of directing people to your Instagram account or website. You will likely get better conversions by sending people to your Instagram account to get them as followers. This will allow you you nurture your followers over time through your Instagram photos.
If you use this tactic, please let me know in the comments how it went, what type of conversion you got to followers and most importantly sales as well as prices you paid for the ads.

Hey, guys – Richard, from A Better Lemonade Stand. I quickly just wanted to share with you kind of a new marketing tactic or strategy that I just learned about the other day. It’s really simple; it’s dead simple, and I know it’s been applied to other social networks before, including YouTube and Twitter, but this was the first time I’ve seen it applied to Instagram. I didn’t think of it myself, so I kind of wanted to share that with you guys, and share the results of a particular case study that I kind of watched the other night with you guys.
Basically, all you’re doing is, you’re paying to get an add or a photo of one of your products, let’s say, in front of the eyes of another Instagram account within your niche. You basically need to find an Instagram account within your niche that has a lot of followers. By “a lot of followers”, you’re talking probably 100,000; 200,000, or 300,000+ followers.
There’s a couple ways to do this. Obviously, you can search for hashtags that revolve around your niche. You could also look at the popular page and kind of find photos that kind of revolve around your niche, and you’ll want to look at who posted those photos. Once you find these accounts, you need to look for an email address in the description field. These are usually the people that will allow you to do featured inserts on their Instagram feed or paid inserts, kind of paid ads.
Once you do that, you’ll want to contact them and ask them what their rules are revolving around paid inserts that are being featured on their page, and ask them the cost. I’ve been told it costs usually $50 to $100. I don’t have confirmation of this, because I haven’t done it myself. You’re going to have to figure that one out yourself, as to how much it costs. Like I said, though, I’ve been told it’s usually around $50 to $100, depending on how many followers the person has. Relatively cheap, though, all things considered.
I saw this happen the other night. I saw, it was a small men’s fashion e-commerce store. They posted a photo on a much larger Intagram account that had 350,000 followers. I quickly followed the account, and I watched them gain followers. Every couple of seconds, they were gaining another 50 or 100 followers! At the end of the day, all said and done, about 24 hours later, they acquired 3,500 followers from this men’s fashion Instagram account. That would be pretty successful to me, gaining 3,500 followers in 24 hours in your target niche, as well as, it helps you build that base up, which is usually really hard to do. Your first 100,000 followers on any social network are pretty difficult nowadays, so it was a good way to get 3,500 followers really quick.
That was the strategy! I saw it happen the other night. I have yet to apply this, but I’m definitely going to apply this to our business for the Great Build. I’ll definitely be documenting that and sharing our results, not just how many followers we get from it, but how many sales that translates into – that’s always seemed the key to any marketing campaign. In the meantime, though, if you guys end up doing this, please, share the results with me. Let me know how much the ad cost for you guys, let me know the result, how many followers you got, what sort of sales conversion you got from that. I’d love to hear all those details.
Once again, guys, thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed today’s marketing strategy or tactic, and once again, let me know if you guys use it.
