Bounce Rate
In web analytics, the term bounce rate refers to the rate at which visitors leave a page soon after landing on it. A high bounce rate means that users are not interacting with the page and move on to another very quickly.
Why Bounce Rate is Important
For web retailers, the bounce rate is an important statistic to observe. If visitors to a site do not spend enough time reading the content of a page, they are not engaged by what they are reading. This will affect the conversion rate of the site, which is the number of visitors that result in actual sales.
A page that has a high bounce rate needs to be reviewed and it must be determined why users are not engaging with the content of the page. This information must be used to improve the page content in order to retain the reader’s interest and lower the page’s bounce rate.
